Job description:
This distributor of professional nutritional products is offering a particularly interesting and varied IT placement suitable for a Masters or final year undergraduate student. It combines web design with IT support for internal network users. Reporting to the Managing Director & ICT Supervisor, tasks and duties will include:
* Develop and maintain - informational websites
e-commerce websites
interactive websites
* Integrate websites with MySQL database server using PHP;
* Use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator for graphical manipulation;
* Participate in developing and implementing electronic marketing
* Working within a busy and challenging role across multiple projects at once.
* The Company uses a Windows 2003 based TCP/IP server/client network
* Hours of work 8.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday
Essential requirments:
* Fluent English written & spoken
* Strong IT skills
* Ability to write websites in HTML and CSS
* At least minimum knowledge of the PHP programming language and database principles (SQL)
* Ability to use Adobe Photoshop, or some equivalent graphics design software;
* Knowledge of Adobe Dreamweaver
* Ability to communicate with internal staff at all levels;
* A friendly, positive attitude

* Confident & able to work independently as required
Additional requirments:
* An undergraduate or postgraduate student with previous experience in a similar role and environment.
* Portfolio of previous website projects that show your level of work and expertise would be very advantageous.
* Search engine optimisation knowledge.
* Knowledge of Internet security issues.
* Working knowledge of JavaScript and jQuery framework
* Some experience with a Web Content Management System (e.g. WordPress)
* Knowledge/experience of e-commerce
* Understanding of XML
* ASP Programming
* Knowledge of Adobe Flash
Knowledge of:
* Desktop Publishing
* Basic TCP/IP Windows Networking
* Microsoft Office (2003 onwards)
* Linux Webserver Administration
